March 6th Safety Seminar
2010-03-07 21:58:36 Return to Events
Our Safety Seminar "What's up with WAAS?" by John Pallante was very informative and time well spent. Everyone that attended the Safety Seminar seemed to enjoy it from the questions asked and their comments. John was very knowledgeable and cordial enough to answer questions for 1/2 an hour after the seminar ended. He explained WAAS and LAAS, and detailed the VOLPE format of the current Approach Plates. If you use the Volpe method of reading a plate, once done, you should be able to put it down and not have to refer to it again, by using the 8 blocks to success. This method consolidates the data with less hunting and reduces confusion in the cockpit. John flew his plane up from Cross Keys (17N), N.J. There were approximately 70 pilots in attendance. Our Thanks to John Pallante, Bill VanArtsdalen, and Jim Sankey for a job well done. | ||||
